Our Cattle

The suckler herd at Bedfords Farm enjoys lush grass in ancient meadows in the summer months and comfortable modern housing to shelter when the weather turns. Throughout the winter, feed is milled daily on the farm, using home-grown cereals. We have a variety of breeds, mostly born and bred on the farm and suited to a slow rearing and a stress-free existence.

The farm is Red Tractor Approved, with a cold room, butchery and freezer on site. We hang the meat in sides for 28 days. A local butcher visits weekly to add to the freezer and advise us on the best cuts and seasonal products for each animal. Customers can choose from a wide selection of cuts and products, using the animal from nose to tail. The meat is frozen soon after butchery retaining the maximum freshness and making it convenient to use whenever it suits you.
